How To Play Texas hold'em poker

Texas Hold'em poker uses blinds instead of the ante which used in other types of poker to initiate the betting process. The player to the left of the dealer places the first bet which is called the small blind. The small blind is half of the small stake at the table. The player to the left of the small blind posts the second bet, the big blind, which is usually in the size of half the larger stake.

After the blinds are posted the players receive their hole cards. The hole cards are two cards each player receives and only he can see them. After receiving the hole cards the players need to either call the larger blind, to fold or to raise the bet. When this betting round is over the flop is being dealt. The flop is three cards positioned on the middle of the table facing up. These community cards can be used by each player to complete his hand. After the flop there is another betting round. After the flop comes the turn, a fourth community card placed on the table. Again a betting round takes place after the new card. After the turn comes the river, the fifth and last community card. The river is followed by the final round of betting. After betting is over players are showing their hands and the strongest hand wins the game.
